Monday Oct 07, 2024
Monday Oct 07, 2024
The Practical Faith Academy Podcast from Cecil Taylor Ministries presents guests who have important things to say about putting your faith into practice. Cecil interviews each guest to understand their life stories and their ideas for living a seven-day practical faith.
Jack Hager is a former convict who found Jesus while incarcerated, simply by reading the Bible and letting the Holy Spirit work on him. He emerged ready to serve God, becoming a pastor. Over his career, Hager’s service has included work for Family Life Ministries, partly as a radio host; toured widely as a youth summer camp speaker; and served in prison ministry. Hager’s theme is personal responsibility and accountability that he learned the hard way.
Highlights of the podcast:
2:22 Seven-Day practical faith is a redundant term.
4:22 Jack’s journey of landing in prison and finding Christ there
11:19 Jack’s moment of conversion, completely based on reading the Bible
15:21 The difference Jesus has made in his life
18:23 Concern over Biblical illiteracy
19:36 Why “It’s not my fault” is an obscenity
23:56 Why it’s important to Jack to be involved in youth ministry
